Take a candlelight tour of Moores Creek National Battlefield in North Carolina on November 15, 2008. You’ll be visited by historical people from the past and you’ll learn about the events that led to the first Southern battle and patriot victory of the American Revolution.

Reservations are required, so make your reservations now. The event begins at 7 pm and ends at 9 pm. This will be a lot of fun for the whole family and I’m sure you’ll get lots of great pictures, so send me a picture or two and a paragraph about your trip. I’ll do my best to include them in my next newsletter!

I can’t wait to hear all about your ‘Venture. Send your stories and pictures to cubclub@tdbpress.com and of course, drop by www.teddystravels.com soon.

Where will YOU go next?™

Tedrick

Imagine 8,000 candles all lit at the same time in one place. What an awesome sight. Well, you can be a part the Historic Corinth Grand Illumination at Shiloh National Military Park in Mississippi. You can be a part of this event which is a memorial to the total number of men killed, wounded or captured during the Civil War Battle of Corinth, fought on November 3-4 in 1862. This will be a serious time to think about the sacrifices made in our history to make this country the great place that is is today.

There will also be a local art competition, a heritage crafts fair, a symphony concert. Living history presentations are scheduled at the Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center, too. I love being a part of a Living History Event. It makes you feel like you have traveled back in time. What fun!

Be sure to take lots of pictures and send me a picture and a paragraph about your trip. I’ll do my best to include them in my next newsletter!

I can’t wait to hear all about your ‘Venture.
Do you like to write? How about drawing or painting? Well, the National Parks Service has a great contest in the works. It’s called Looking for Your Lincoln Hero and all you have to do is send in your writing or art that illustrates the heroic qualities of Abraham Lincoln that you most admire. You also need to include a description of a person that has those same qualities. This may be a person you know or someone you would like to meet who you think is a hero, too.

The deadline is December 1, 2008, so get busy and join in on the fun. Send me a picture and a paragraph about the Lincoln Hero in your life. I’ll do my best to include them in my next newsletter!

I can’t wait to hear all about your ‘Venture. Send your stories and pictures to cubclub@tdbpress.com and of course, drop by www.teddystravels.com soon.

Where will YOU go next?™

Tedrick
