Where will YOU go next?™

It’s SPRING!
Time to start planning your next ‘Venture™.

National Park News & Events
There’s always something exciting happening in our National Parks. Here are just a few exciting events that might just take you on another ‘Venture™!

So, You Want To Escape The Crowds?
Last year, America’s National Parks had 272 million visitors. That’s a lot of people, but, there are some wonderful National Parks you can visit where the crowds are smaller. So, make plans to visit the “busy” parks in the Spring or Fall and take a ‘Venture™ to a Park that is off the beaten trail.

The Bears are Out!
It’s Springtime and that means all my cousins are coming out of hibernation. Here’s a story about Grand Teton National Park, but my bear friends in lots of National Parks across the country are waking up to smell the wildflowers. Be careful, when you’re out and be especially careful if you see a cub. Momma bear is likely to be close by and she’ll do whatever she has to do to protect her little ones.

A New Website Simplifies Planning
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could find all your camping and travel planning needs in one place? Well, look no further. There is a new website called recreation.gov that can lead you to all your favorite parks and recreation areas, regardless of federal agency jurisdiction.

The Shuttles are Running!
It’s almost Summer and your planning a trip to Sequoia National Park. Then you remember how crowded and crazy it can be trying to find a parking place to see the Big Trees. Well, you don’t have to worry any more. Take a relaxing ride to Sequoia National Park without the worries of traffic or parking. A new system of shuttles are running throughout the summer. In fact, you don’t even have to drive up the mountain. You can catch the shuttle from four different locations in Visalia, California. Follow this LINK for the complete story!

National Park Service
FREE On-Line Course about the National Park Service

Did you ever wonder how the National Parks came to be? Or how about learning all the basic stuff a Park Ranger needs to know when they join the National Park Service? Well, here’s your chance to be “in-the-know”. Take this on-line course to learn all about the National Park Service and how it works. You’ll learn lots of new things and you’re sure to have some new questions of your own to ask a Park Ranger next time you visit a National Park.

Looking for a GREAT Graduation Gift?
Teddy’s Travels™ - America’s National Parks makes a great gift for your favorite Graduate. You can purchase copies of my book at any of the National Park Bookstores on our list at the link at the top of this page. You can also order them from my website and I can inscribe and sign them for you. Either way, you’re sure to make someone really happy as they get ready for their ‘Venture of a lifetime!

Cub Club™ ‘Ventures™
If you’ve been on a ‘Venture in the past few months, send me a picture and a paragraph about where you’ve been and all the great things you did. Then, I’ll share them with all the other CubClub™ members in my next newsletter!

Here’s a ‘Venture™Note from my friend Cheryl. She took a great ‘Venture™ through the Rockies and took pictures of some great Park Entrance Signs along the way.
Bryce Canyon National Park

Hi Teddy!
After I got a copy of your book, I headed down the highway to see what I grand sites I could discover. Two of my favorites were The Rocky Mountain National Park and Bryce Canyon. It was amazing to see the contrast of deep etchings in the earth at Bryce Canyon and then to be up over 11,000 feet in the Rocky Mountain National Park. When I stopped at the Continental Divide, I wondered what Lewis and Clark thought when they had their first breath taking view! WOW what a sight! I was hoping to see the Black Canyon National Park in Colorado…it rained so hard I had to just wave at the entrance and keep on going. That’s okay, there will be other road trips and I am sure I will get my passport stamped sooner or later.  Bye for now!  Cheryl
